Who are the people behind Equine Engineering?

Mark Byrne who graduated from GMIT in 2010 with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering has been involved in horses all his life. He is from the famous Doyle dynasty, his uncles Jack and Edward Doyle have both represented Ireland on numerous occasions with Jack competing at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Mark himself has showjumped successfully and continues to do so with an ever-growing yard of horses. 

 

Sorcha North who also graduated from GMIT in 2010 with an Honours Degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Science is the other driving force behind the business. She too comes from a family steeped in Equestrianism, she is from the famous Bourns family with Andrew Bourns her cousin successfully running a yard in the USA where he produces Irish horses, her aunt Bill Bourns producing numerous champion cobs in the Dublin show ring and her mother Shirley a well known all round horse woman. Sorcha has represented Ireland during her pony career and showjumped to Grand Prix level very successfully in horses.
